Director, Seow-Choen Colorectal Centre
Senior Consultant and Medical Director, Fortis Colorectal Hospital
Dr Seow-Choen is currently the director of his own practice and a founding member of the Fortis Colorectal Hospital. After obtaining his surgical qualifications in 1987, he specialized in colorectal surgery and turned Singapore into a surgical colorectal powerhouse over the years. He has helmed the Department of Colorectal Surgery at Singapore General Hospital and was previously an Associate Professor at both National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University before starting his own practice.
Dr Seow-Choen is also the chairman of the Guide Dogs of the Blind Association Singapore and the Vice-Chairman of the Singapore China Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology.
CEO/Founder – City College Holdings Ltd/City College Pte Ltd/O School Ltd/Little Big Pre-School Pte Ltd
Kenny is the CEO & Founder of City College and Little Big Pre-School as well as a performing arts centre – O School. He graduated with a Business degree from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore and earned his Masters in Education Management from Monash University. In 2005, he started City College out of a desire to provide quality education using alternative teaching methods for youths preparing for their GCE ‘O’ Level examinations. He also founded O School – a performing arts centre to provide a platform for expression and to create jobs for dance talents.
For his vision to start enterprises to fill social gaps, Kenny was presented with the SIP-Schwab Foundation’s Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2007. Not to stop there and believing that one’s creativity is best nurtured from young, he also founded Little Big Pre-School Pte Ltd in 2008. Aside from running these enterprises, Kenny currently serves actively in the community as a Councilor for South West Community Development Council and a School Advisory Committee member for North View Primary School.
Retired MOE educator
Kiam Hiong has more than 15 years of experience in the education sector. Prior to joining the Ministry of Education, he was an auditor at Price Waterhouse & Co. and he also managed his family businesses at the same time. His passion for impacting lives led him to a mid-career switch to education. He has since retired from teaching and continues to share his wealth of experience by serving on the board of City College.
